About

Literacy Volunteers of Collier County was started 36 years ago as an affiliate of ProLiteracy America. Since that time, it has been the Mission of LVCC to enhance the lives of children and adults by improving their English skills. By mastering the English language, children that go through our programs are better equipped to handle the educational demands they will face in their lives. Adults are better equipped to assimilate to society, progress in their careers and provide better lives for their families. Currently, LVCC serves all of Collier County as well as partners with Collier County Public Schools to provide programs for Head Start students in 15 elementary schools. We have over 75 tutors that are vital in executing the programs for adults and children and work tirelessly to provide the gift of literacy.
