Description

  • Mission Statement

Connecting people to southwest Florida’s dynamic coastal environment in support of Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.

    Organizational Overview

The Friends of Rookery Bay, Inc. is a citizen support non-profit organization established in 1987 to help support education, conservation and research at the 110,000-acre Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, which encompasses 40 percent of Collier County’s coastline from Keewaydin Island through the Western Everglades. From youth science education programs to eco-tours to community outreach, Friends of Rookery Bay finds engaging ways to teach people how this ecosystem impacts the local tourism-based economy, serves as storm protection from hurricanes, and enhances the quality of life for the people and wildlife that call Southwest Florida home.
