The mission of Valerie’s House is to help children work through the loss of a loved one together and go on to live fulfilling lives. Our vision is that no child will grieve alone.

Organizational Overview

Valerie’s House is the only organization in Southwest Florida with its sole mission to help children grieve. A safe haven where families can gather after the loss of a loved one and be reminded they are not alone, the mission of Valerie’s House is to help children and families work through the loss of a loved one together and go on to live fulfilling lives. Through peer grief support groups, individual grief counseling, the Val’s PALs (Positive Adult Leadership) mentoring program, youth suicide prevention, in-school bereavement services, and specialized family assistance, we’re striving to assure that No Child Grieves Alone. Valerie’s House – Naples includes warm, inviting spaces that allow kids to be kids and families to feel comfortable. All spaces are used for peer grief support groups, but each room has a personality all its own. Children can utilize our Volcano Room for individual sessions to release emotions like anger, frustration, and guilt. In the Chill Room, children and caregivers learn meditation techniques, to find peace through complicated emotions. The Imagination Room features a time machine and allows visitors to travel back in time in their mind to a treasured memory.
