Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide motivated high school students with hand-on experience in all aspects of business and career readiness skills to empower them to change their lives and the lives of the community.
Organizational Overview
Taste the Impact provides high school students in Immokalee and Naples, Florida with real-world business experience and foundational soft skills needed to make them career ready, through entrepreneurship. Working in both classroom and field operation settings, under the guidance of professional business mentors, students are involved with all aspects of the business. Students are exposed to product testing, accounting/finance, sales/marketing, package design, human resource, customer service, operation/logistics and manufacturing. Through our career readiness and soft skill development & Internship program, our organization uses an innovative approach to open a new world of opportunity, exposes students to professional career paths, and equips them with the skills and experiences needed to be successful in school and in today’s workforce. To date we have served 575 students, provided 230 paid internships, and provided 42 students state recognized credential. The overall objectives of our organization is to collaborate with community partners to (1) Increase the number of high school students with fundamental employability skills, (2) Increase the number of high school students who have completed an internship while in high school, (3) Increase the number of high school students who have knowledge and hands on experience in running a business, and (4) Increase the number of high school students who are involved in Civic Engagement and Service Learning.
