Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida

Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida is a non-profit organization providing medical, case management and prevention and education services to low income and uninsured adults who have epilepsy.The agency started performing these services in Sarasota in 1968. The organization currently serves 530 clients in eight counties, including approximately 50 in Collier County Epilepsy Services clients get appointments with neurologists, diagnostic testing, including lab work and EEG's and professional case management. Typically, our clients are unable to pay for routine health exams and consequently end up treating their seizures with unpaid emergency room visits which contributes to the overall increase in health care and insurance costs. Supporting Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida is an excellent investment because when clients utilize our program they typically see a reduction or cessation of seizures, which means a significant reduction in visits to the emergency room and a greater degree of personal dignity and independence.
