Mission Statement
“To create awareness and raise funds to eliminate hunger in our community ONE BOWL at a time”
Organizational Overview
The annual Empty Bowls Naples Event is a deliciously fun day at Cambier Park with a mission to help feed hungry people in our community, one bowl at a time. In 2007, Empty Bowls Naples began with Donna Torrance and her pottery classes at Barron Collier High School. Their mission was to raise awareness of food insecurity and collect donations to fill the empty bowls of local people who go hungry. The first guests were invited to select a hand crafted pottery bowl and enjoy soup from local restaurants. Sixteen years later, hundreds of passionate volunteers have helped this community based joint venture grow to become one of the largest Empty Bowls events in the country. Mark January 22, 2022 on your calendar now and plan to join us for Empty Bowls 2022 at Cambier Park. A token donation of $25 or more will allow you to choose a unique ceramic soup bowl from thousands created throughout the year by volunteer artists, educators, students, community groups and service organizations. Many local restaurants and clubs provide tastings of their most popular soups, served with bread or crackers. Guests enjoy music and demonstrations by potters and even have an opportunity to paint a bowl. Generous donors and talented artists contribute many wonderful items for our silent auction and boutique shopping. Each attendee takes home their handcrafted bowl as a keepsake reminder of the people who go hungry in our community.
