Description

  • Organizational Overview

Incorporated in 1970 as The Art League of Marco Island, Inc. and now doing business as Marco Island Center for the Art (Art Center), this 50 year-old organization works to be a preeminent Art Center by providing open and economically viable access to art, events, and educational opportunities to residents and visitors. Art exhibitions take place year round and some exhibitions run for one month, while other exhibitions may run for two months to allow for more community involvement (artist talks, workshops and family programming). Calls to Artists (CTA) are themed exhibitions which support local talent of all ages and serve as an economic driver for artists. Innovative and cultural works are curated and presented to build new and more diverse audiences. Individual artists and local middle and high school students are selected to show their work in our La Petite Galerie. The Gift Gallery provides an additional space where over 150 artists are able to display and sell their work.
